Have you just dissolved the Senate?

Is that possible from another continent?

It's certainly safer that way.

In other news entirely:

I may head right from work to SCC to start sighting in my new 10/22. Want I should give you a call if I do?

Please do. However, I will be out sweeping the ghost town until at least 5:30 (I'm taking someone out there tomorrow or Sat)...when are you done?

Well, I'm done with work at 5:00.

But then I have to drive to Stoughton from Mequon, which will probably take 1.5-2 hours.

I'll give a call as I approach town. I can't guarantee that I'll hit the range, since there are some evenings the drive just kills my ambition to do anything whatsoever...but that 10/22 has been sitting in my car for five days now, unfired, and that's some powerful motivation, right there.

I'm interested in how many miles "Big Red" had on it before her funeral. Also wondering what you're driving these days.

~265k, or so.

She needed an oil change, exhaust work, a new speedometer cable, and some weird fault tracked down in the electrical system. It was the last one that really sealed her fate.

The new car's a Scion xA:

But in black.

That car is VERY not you, what gives?

My opinions on some things have changed.

I can't really tell you why, but I've become somewhat enamored of the liftback.

That being said, no, it's certainly not the car I'd buy if I had twice as much money to spend. But, in the $14k-16k range, it's the one I liked best. It beat out the Elantra, the Yaris sedan, and the Rio.

And, honestly, for me to get a car that I'd like enough better to be worth the extra money, I'd end up spending at least $18k, probably over $20k.

I admit, discovering all this came as something of a surprise to me, too...but I really enjoy driving it.
